To maintain accreditation, Pastoral Associates and Pastoral Workers are required to undertake regular Supervision to ensure their their ongoing mental health and abilities in spiritual and interpersonal relationships.
Depending on how many hours you work, the requirement is for up to 9 sessions per year.
Supervision can be either individual or small group.
The Archdiocese currently offers Subsidised Group Supervision sessions in various locations around the regions. These are advertised at the start of each year - if you don't hear about them early in the year you should make enquiries.

Alternatively you may organise your own individual or group Supervision with an accredited Supervisor. You may find our list of suggested Supervisors helpful.

To maintain accreditation, Pastoral Associates and Pastoral Workers are required to engage in study and other suitable activities to ensure their ongoing personal and spiritual development and the upkeep of their professional knowledge and abilities.
Depending on how many hours you work, the requirement is for up to an average of 30 hours per year. Supervision sessions may not be included in these hours.
Requirements may be met through a number of relevant activities such as formal study, talks, workshops, conferences, retreats, meditation sessions, reflection sessions, spiritual direction. You may find our list of suggested Spiritual Directors helpful.
The Association runs a 2 day Conference or Retreat most years which counts significantly towards these requirements. Additionally, some Association Gatherings have guest speakers whose presentations can also count towards Professional Development.
You are advised to keep up-to-date records of all relevant events you attend, including evidence of attendance such as receipts, booking confirmations, and certificates of attendance.
