APMLM holds several events regularly each year for all members. Additionally, activities of more specific interest or application to certain members may be held.
The following events generally occur throughout a normal year.
Annual General Meeting - The Association holds its AGM in March each year, usually including a meal and sometimes a guest speaker.
General Gatherings - In addition to the AGM, several gatherings enable members to share news, discuss issues, chat over a simple meal, or hear a presentation of relevance to pastoral ministry. Location and time varies to spread the burden of travel and to meet different members' availabilities. These gatherings could also take the form of a picnic or other such event deemed suitable.
Celebration Dinner - A relaxed and informal evening or lunch time for both current and past members to catch up and celebrate, and also formally acknowledge and thank those who have retired from the Association and/or from positions of leadership over the past twelve months.
Other Events - Various ad hoc events take place at the initiative of the Leadership Team or individual members, and emerging from what is happening and relevant at the time. These events might be as varied as talks or discussions related to relevant topics, or reflective and prayerful gatherings, or local meetups to chat over coffee.
One example is the meeting held to discuss the results of a research project about committed Catholics who have stopped coming to Church. Another example is the weekly Zoom meetings that happened during the long covid lockdowns, helping connect and support members through that period of isolation and difficult ministry.
