Teachers' Training Programs
Invited to be a resource person for the 1st Vigyan Pratibha Teachers' Training Workshop 2024-25, scheduled from 1st April 2024 to 5th April 2024 at NISER Bhubaneswar.
Invited to give three one hour lectures on ``Calculus on variations” at the Refresher Course in Maths, Statistics and Computer Science organised by University of Lucknow during January 10-23, 2023.
Gave two lectures on “A proof of the classical Isoperimetric Problem in the Euclidean Plane using Fourier Analysis” at a workshop for undergraduate teachers in Mathematics and Physics titled: Intertwining strands in Physics and Mathematics: Fourier analysis during Jan 19-23, 2018. This workshop was organised by COESME at IISER Pune in association with the National Academies of Science. This workshop was organised by Professors Deepak Dhar and Rohini Godbole.
Lecture I: Introduction to the classical Isoperimetric Problem, The Isoperimetric Inequality, Formulation, Idea of the proof.
Lecture II: Recap of the Fourier Analysis to be used in the proof, Complete Proof of the Isoperimetric Inequality, More About the Isoperimetric Problems.
Gave a demonstration and lecture titled “How Mathematicians think?”
(a) on May 19, 2017 as part of a three day meet up of Ganit Sarthi Fellows organised by an NGO called Lend- A -Hand India held during May 18- 20, 2017.
(b) on April 10, 2017 as part of the Simple Mathematics Learning Workshop: Special Program for Mathematics Teachers of Pune District organised by an NGO called Lend-A- Hand India at the New English School, Sadashiv Peth, Pune.
Gave six lectures at the Instructional School for Teachers (IST) on Algebraic Topology held at Department of Mathematics, Goa University, Goa during December 7-19, 2015.
Topics covered: Definition of smooth manifolds as submanifolds of R^n, abstract definition by smoothness of transition functions, ‘medium form’ of the Whitney embedding theorem for compact manifolds, embeddings of Projective plane and Klein bottle in R^4.
Gave six lectures at the Instructional School for Lecturers (ISL) on Differential Geometry held at Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan during December 8-11, 2014. Topics covered: Regular surfaces, differential functions on surfaces, the tangent plane and differential maps between regular surfaces; the first fundamental form.
Invited to conduct a Mathematics workshop for students and teachers in Schools of Mangrol village in Gujrat on May 24, 2014.
