A history of Wigandsthal, belonging to the Meffersdorf Manor, from its founding to the end of 1822, written by request from the freeholder and Lord Rent Collector Traugott Gruner, is a valuable source for this area.
This book has several sections:
The first section deals with the origins of Wigandsthal, how it was built, and who the lords were; the second section deals with the church and the teachers in and around it; the third with the school and its teachers, which the town has benefited from since its inception; the fourth section deals with those objects that belong to Wigandsthal alone and in part; the fifth with notable incidents in the town; the sixth with local misfortunes in various sections; and the seventh with the houses listed by consecutive house number, with all their owners from the beginning to the present day.
