When it comes to school needs, those being academic, social and anything else dealing with students, those decisions are usually left up to the people, the staff, or the faculty who work at the school. However, there are many other important people to include in decision making, opinions considering, and feedback to get outside of the school, those being community and parents.
Parents input is very important because they are the ones that are noticing if their child is learning or no. These people are in the passenger’s seat of the student’s education. The survey sent to the staff and parents may be different, but the basic questions should be the same. Do they see growth from their kids? Do they think that the tests that are given are working? Is there an area that they would change? Parent input can help the school improve in so many ways. The parent input will also help the budget because the school will know where the parents needs are, what they believe is important. As a school, we want to make sure that we have a good relationship with parents,
The community are also important stakeholders because they are the ones that can give more to the school if needed, sometimes a budget can depend on what the community votes for us to get. For schools, many circumstances on how we move forward with school programs, with budgets and the community votes on funding. To be able to have their input is going to make them feel involved in the decision-making, and unite the schools and communities as one to where we are all looking out for the academic growth of the children.
