I will discuss three learning artifacts. These learning artifacts have roots in my CoAT portfolio. For Introduction to Statistics, I create skeletal notes. I do this to reach as large a set of learning styles as possible. I find this particularly helpful when teaching students who do not enjoy mathematics. I have modified these skeletal notes each semester based on the fact that students have commented the course is too fast. For other courses, I do not have skeletal notes (the time it takes to create/modify skeletal notes is significant, and so I only have had time to do so for one course per term). However, I have designed a lesson plan that aims to increase active learning and reaches both global and sequential learning. Lastly, I discuss the failure of an activity for which I found success at NCSU courses.
