Professional Development
In the summer of 2024, I will be taking a graduate-level course on Executive Functioning and strategies for how to help students who struggle with EF skills. This course is a Landmark College course and is a 15 hour course.
I participated in the two-year fellowship by CLASP (Center for Liberal Arts and Sciences Pedagogy) with Bard College's Institute for Writing and Thinking from Fall 2021 - Fall 2023. In this program, I was trained in liberal arts pedagogy and helped to inform mathematics teaching using writing-intensive activities. The result of this program is a capstone project, a paper, which describes my findings of using these activities within a Calculus I course at the college level.
In Fall 2018, I will attend the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference in Hartford, CT.
In the Summer of 2017, I created a teaching portfolio to document my teaching and learning during the first two years with Bard College at Simon's Rock.
I attended a conference, The Festival of Positive Education, in Dallas, Texas in July 2016. Please see Positive Education Reflection for more detail.
I participated in the Certificate of Accomplishment in Teaching (CoAT) program with North Carolina State University (NCSU) from Fall 2013 - Fall 2015. In this program, I created a teaching portfolio based on the three courses I taught while attending NCSU.
