Baoli means stepwell which earlier rulers use to make to have access to constant supply of groundwater. Baoil use to have 2 basic parts- a vertical shaft and a surrounding inclined passages, chambers, and steps. Baolis are built up deep below 5-6 storeys below groundlevel. The galleries and chambers surrounding these wells are often carved beautifully. These structures remain cool during summers
