Goa is a wonderful place which takes you close to the nature. If you are a tourist you may like to see the beautiful beaches …the white sand ones and the brown sand ones… rising waves of the Arabian sea…. old churches at Panjim and old Goa, Spice gardens, Fort Chapora, Cape de Rama and Agauda. It is also famous for its Saturday night markets where you not only shop but also enjoy the sizzling rock music preformed by different bands.
Climate in Goa is just perfect for tourism. Humid due to coastal proximity, but pleasant winds makes it really enjoyable, especially during Nov-Feb. However, visiting Goa in monsoon could be a real unique experience too. In Monsoon , you may see the most greenest form of Goa, also with less people around.
People in Goa are simple and live in harmony. Due to its good economic and social conditions, you will find very few beggars on roads.
Goa has an area of about 3700 km² with 2 districts and 11 taluks. Panaji is located in Tiswadi taluk . However, the airport and main railway station are in Madgaon which is in Salcete taluk. There are about 20 industrial estates in the state producing chemical, pharmaceuticals, iron etc. Iron-ore mining is prominent in taluks of Sattari and Sanguem. Ore is transported through waterways to the Marmugao port from where it is exported to various countries especially China.
Indicators of social development show a very good picture of Goa. Low infant mortality, low maternal mortality, high literacy, good access to water are some of the better indicators of Goa.
