In the 60's, members donated their time to "Operation Lollipop" during the polio epidemic and were the mainstay for communications during the early days of the March of Dimes Telethons. Hub Perrault of Munising was deeply involved in the Telethon, and Radio Operators from Around the U.P. would relay the pledges to the WLUC TV6 Studio via HF.
