Ani was born on 19 January 1929, second youngest daughter of Alf and Ani Beazley.
She went to a school at a fairly early age and couldn't speak English when she first attended.
She recalls that out of all the children she was the one who was cheekiest to Bob. George and Bill were the rebels, but Bob was a real terror. One particular time, she had a boil on her behind and isn't sure what she had done but Bob said if she didn't listen to him he would give her a hiding. Anyway, he chased her. There was this drain near the homestead. Before
he could give her a boot, she fell in the drain and he went over. While he was trying to get up she was off. He never got her in the end but said "when I catch you ......
One of her jobs was the ploughing. Another was to get the wood. Their father preferred this job being done in the rain as you could get a bigger load and the sledge went better over the mud. Susan had the easy job of feeding the chickens and pet pig.
When the older ones had left home she was the "farmer". Everyone, except - Susan, had that role at some time.
Ani was nineteen before she saw her elder sister, Dolly, again after she had left home, so she doesn't know her so well.
Ani married Butler Morunga on Saturday, 26 July 1951. She had a "rainbow" wedding, and her wedding ring, although skinny, is 18 carat gold, for which Butler paid £21716. Sam supplied the home brew, which everyone sneered at, but they later all got drunk on it so it couldn't have been too bad.
Although times were tough and they all had to work hard, she has never regretted doing any of it because it came in handy when she got married.
