Membership

Annual Membership in the Association of International Librarians and Information Specialists

AILIS provides librarians and information specialists with opportunities for personal contacts and professional development, such as the Library Science Talks series (co-sponsored with the CERN Library and the Zentralbibliotek Zürich), training courses, professional visits, and networking events.

The support of our members is what makes it possible for AILIS to continue these efforts aimed at sharing information, developing high standards of professionalism and promoting co-operation.

Membership is for the calendar year.

Membership benefits

Individual members are entitled to: 

• one vote at the AILIS General Assembly; 

• eligibility to the AILIS Executive Committee; 

• participation in AILIS activities, including a discounted rate for training courses organized by the Association; 

• a discounted registration fee at the IFLA Annual Conference; and 

• access to the AILIS mailing list (including the possibility to share their CV for spontaneous job applications)

Each institutional membership entitles the institution to: 

• the discounted member rate for two persons for one training course per year; 

• the opportunity to host a Library Science Talk at their institution; and 

• access to the AILIS mailing list, which can help maximize visibility to vacancy announcements and also allows the institution to receive spontaneous applications from qualified candidates.
