Dear APS Members and Guests,
The culture of competition that is deeply ingrained at APS was once again on display at our winter contest meeting. The assortment of contest officials and guests who were not anonymous included Sergeants at Arms Gail Proto and Win Almira Mandy and Timer Ruimin Pan. APS members who served as contest officials were Ballot Counter Neerja Purang, Contestant Interviewer Myron Tucker and Timer/Photographer Derek Chen. Everyone was treated to a delicious spread of snacks courtesy of Georgia Jones and Marcia Berry.
The Contest Chair was Pam Burke and the Chief Judge was Georgia Jones.
The contestants and the outcome for each contest were identical, something rarely seen. The contestants were: Harry Aneziris, Marcia Berry, Bill Kennedy, Todd McKinney, and Brian Robinson.
International Speech Contest Results:
1st Place – Brian Robinson (for his speech “Never Too Busy”)
2nd Place – Todd McKinney
3rd Place – Harry Aneziris
Test Speaker Cinti Laird entertained everyone with her humorous speech “Little Rascals Strike Again.”
Speech Evaluation Contest Results:
1st Place – Brian Robinson
2nd Place – Todd McKinney
3rd Place – Harry Aneziris
One contestant was disqualified for speaking overtime in this contest.
Brian Robinson will represent APS at the Area 44 Contest on March 3.
