General medicine teaching teams (Color Red/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue/Indigo/Violet, each team has A/B)
Family Medicine team (different residency - Institute for Family Health clinic - cap 12 patients)
ADS medicine (non-teaching) team
High Acuity ADS (HA-ADS) team
HIV patients always go to “Silver” teaching team regardless of acuity
GERIATRICS
Patients follows with outpatient MSH Geriatrics clinic for primary care
Triaged to ADS vs teaching based on acuity as usual
ADS - GERI/MACE team, admit under Geriatrics attending
Geriatrics Teaching —> Silver teaching team
Oncology
Teaching Oncology (Heme/Onc A/B) are for sick hematologic malignancy patients (Leukemia / Lymphoma / Myeloma / MDS)
Sick Solid Onc patients go to General Medicine Teaching (color teams) staffed by teaching hospitalist attending
NP Oncology (Solid / Leukemia / Lymphoma / Myeloma / MDS ) ONLY for patients KNOWN to MSHS Medical Oncologist
ALL Solid Onc pts --> SOLID ONC HOSPITALIST SERVICE
Heme Malig pts admitted for NON-Chemo reasons --> Heme Malig HOSPITALIST SERVICE
Heme Malig pts admitted for chemo related reasons --> NP Oncology under disease team (Myeloma vs Lymphoma vs Leukemia)
BMT Oncology (Autologous BMT, Allogeneic BMT, CAR-T, and Aplastic Anemia Patients)
Cardiology
Cardiology teaching team vs “ADS Telemetry” (non teaching team)
ED team decides if pt is cardiology vs medicine admission
Liver Medicine
Only take patients who follow in their MSH clinic outpatient or if accepted to their team by the liver fellow
Liver fellow must be contacted for acceptance to their team by ED
Pretransplant patients go to “Liver medicine A/B”
Post-transplant patients go to the Liver Transplant service (usually only take pts within 1st year of transplant, after that goes to general medicine)
Renal Transplant Team
Renal fellow is point of contact
Generally only take pts within 1st year of transplant, after that goes to general medicine
Neurology
Has primary team for General Neurology, Seizure, and Stroke patients
NO PRIMARY TEAMS
Lung transplant - no primary team, usually goes to general medicine under Pulmonologist Dr. Seethamraju as attending unless it is a surgical complication then goes under Thoracic Surgery
Dermatology - no primary team, usually goes to general medicine
Ophthalmology - no primary team, usually goes to general medicine
Interventional Radiology - RARELY takes patients to their primary team, usually goes to general medicine
Surgical services with primary teams: usually only take patients who are planned for surgical Intervention or post-op complications
