Unpacking articulation opportunities between TVET colleges and universities
Saturday, 22 July 2017
Objectives
“Technical vocational education and training (TVET) colleges are critical to the growth of business and further development of the economy. These are the institutions that will produce the employees of tomorrow. It is essential therefore that we work together-government, business and other stakeholders to improve the scale, quality and relevance of TVET colleges”
(Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, Parliament, 12 August 2015)
The objective of this academic development symposium is to create a platform for academics, teachers, educational managers and educators to unpack and debate the role of TVET colleges in broadening alternative pathways from school to work. The intention is to include participants from all stakeholders involved with education in the Southern Cape, including basic and higher education, TVET colleges as well as students.
