The thirteenth football reunion was the first reunion without a ball being kicked. We were unable to arrange a game because of a lack of opposition and a significant shortage of fit and willing footballers among the regular reunion goers. However the reunion was still enjoyed by all those who turned up. There were 20 who sat down to eat at Le Figaro in the Cambrian Arms on the Saturday night and most of those went on the walk on the Saturday afternoon.
Although it was a nice, sunny day it was deemed too windy for a walk over the cliffs to Clarach or Borth. After some lunchtime refreshment in the Cambrian on Saturday we set out, following the local guides Carol and Huw, past the hospital, the National library and up to the Great Hall. Here there was a lot of activity completing the preparations way for the May ball. The whole area around the entance was being filled with places for the students to drink, eat and listen to the music. We continued on up the hill, past the funfair (for the May ball students!) and then down the path towards Llanbadarn. When we reached the pub in the square it was time for a short liquid break and to listen to the football results - very important as many of the relegation, promotion and play-off positions were being decided on that day. The route back followed the river and went past the college first team football pitches and we arrived back at the Cambrian about 3 hours later then we started.
This reunion was the first one attended by Des Drumm and it was the first time he had been back to Aber since his honeymoon in 1977. We found that he had a marvellous memory for the words of songs that he had not sung for over 30 years.
The attendees this year were :-

John and Shirley Ansell
Mike and Shan Pickard
Ken and Ann Passmore
