This is the website of a group of ex-Aberystwyth students who have been returning to Aberystwyth annually since 1993 for a game of football.  The group contains players from the Aber and district league teams of the late 1960s and early 1970s - Arabs, Astra, Pantycelyn, Phoenix and Plynlymon.

In 1992 Richard German, who had organised the Arabs team in the 60s, decided that, as it would be 25 years since he left college, he should find some special way of celebrating that event in 1993. He had lost touch with many of his college friends but gradually, by word of mouth, he was able to make contact with a number of people who were invited to go back and spend a weekend at the Cambrian Hotel in the Easter holidays of 1993. As wives were invited as well it made it easier for a lot of players to accept the invitation. It appears that none were put off by the added attraction (?) of a game of football to be played on the Sunday morning at Blaendolau, against a team of players selected from local teams and of the same vintage as the old ex-Aber students.

This first event was obviously a success as we had our 31st annual reunion on April 26-28 2025  -  a detailed account of the 2025 reunion has been included along with some photos -see this link. Unfortunately we had to come to the conclusion some years ago that an annual game of football is not such a good idea at our age.
