Task 2 - Cover Letters & Resumes
Students create fictional cover letters and resumes for their post-college dream job. First, students must research a college of their choice and a job of their choice. Next, students learn how to format a cover letter and a resume by looking at examples and outlines. Finally, students must write their own cover letter and resume as if they have already graduated college and are looking for a job. Students must go through the writing process and complete a minimum of two drafts. Many students far exceed the two draft minimum. Some students struggle with this project if they don't know what they want to be or what college they might want to attend. This gives those students the opportunity to research several schools to find out what the entrance requirements are, as well as jobs that may fit their personality.
