Explanation of the Seasons Video

Bring in a video clip of an adult answering the question, “What causes the seasons?” The adult must not have been given a chance to study or refresh their memory or consult the internet. In other words, it must be spur of the moment and you are NOT to help them!

You can do up to 5 videos. You will earn 3 bonus points per video if you follow all the rules below. Videos that don't follow all the rules will get only 1 point or 0 points.

Rules:

  1. Each interview MUST begin with the following two questions: "Do I have permission to be filming you?" "Do I have permission to show this video at John Adams Middle School?"

  2. If the adult's answer is "The rotation of the Earth," you must then A. ask them "What do you mean by rotation: the rotation of Earth around its axis or the rotation of Earth around the Sun?" B. Then you must tell them, "So explain how that rotation causes seasons."

  3. Any given adult can only be in one video, period. If two students use the same adult for separate videos, only the first video I get will count.

  4. The adult does not have to give the correct explanation, but it must be an explanation. A video of an adult saying "I don't know" will not be counted.

  5. The video can be taken by any device, but must be brought in on a flash drive.

The deadline for this alternate credit opportunity is Friday, March 20th.

Happy Filming!
