What is Operation Ice Cap winter camp?
Operation Ice Cap is a two-night camp for Cub Scouts featuring winter fun and learning – a full indoor/outdoor activity schedule, cabins, indoor pool and food service.
It is held annually at Camp Arnes on the shores of beautiful Lake Winnipeg.
From the huge cedar dining hall, to the Wigwam meeting house, right down to the Candace Deorksen Memorial Swimming Pool, Arnes has all of the facilities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable weekend away from home.
Camp activities include a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities and are run by Scouts Canada volunteers, including adults and Venturer Scouts. See "Memories" page for more pictures of Ice Caps past.
Cub Scouts cooperate to build and start fires, yet compete in an "obstacle course" on the play structure, all the while doing their best.
Activities have included silk screening t-shirts, snowshoeing, skills challenges, sleigh rides, campfire entertainment, and more.
