Once we meet and you share your thoughts about what you envision as the ceremony you want, I continue to guide you in each step of the essential process of your ceremony planning. Throughout that process, I invite your reflective consideration regarding every aspect of your ceremony. After reaching a mutual agreement at our appointment, I send an email with the Uniquely Yours Wedding Ceremony Template which offers resources--some within the template, others found online, These resources have assisted other couples in choosing the texts and music they wished included in their ceremony. Then taking into account your personal needs and your requests, I utilize your preferences in assisting you to compose your distinctive and unique wedding service as a dynamic and inspiring celebration. The duration of your ceremony is up to you and depends more on the content you choose than any preconceived timetable. Ideally, your whole wedding community—the gathering of your family and guests—is drawn into your ceremony. Any concern over the duration of the ceremony—whether long or short—is diminished for family and guests by their feeling included in a ceremony that is a meaningful and uplifting sacred event. Anyone knows what that means if they've experienced a wedding like what one bride described to me as the type she wanted to avoid: "a cookie-cutter ceremony followed by bad cake." I can't do anything about "bad cake", but my aim is to guide a couple in their ceremony composition so that they avoid creating a wedding that is a cold, impersonal and, perhaps, even boring religious service.
There are a number of formats for a wedding service, each following a similar sequence according to the faith community's tradition. Many couples have used the template of a format familiar to most at A Wedding Ceremony Template. While couples need not follow the format of this template exactly as given, my hope is that they find this a good stepping-off point assisting them in their ceremony planning.
