Vietnam Veteran's Day in Nebraska

Wednesday August 25th, 2010 turned out to be a beautiful evening for baseball at Rosenblatt Stadium. A Salute to Vietnam Veterans was presented that included a moment of silence for those who lost their lives, and a thank you to all living veterans for our service to our country. Mayor Suttle proclaimed the day as "Vietnam Veterans Day" in Nebraska. The 172nd was well represented along with veteran's groups from all over the area. The Royals did their part by winning the game 2 - 0 in extra innings.

For those of us who grew up in Omaha, the end of Rosenblatt Stadium marks the end of an era and the grand old venue will be missed. For most of us, it was our last visit to the "Blatt" and a belated, but much appreciated thank you for our service.
