EMITS 4 Stephanie Caracci
July 1 through July 17
Tuesdays/Thursdays 9 AM to 10 AM
Open to students who have completed 4th grade and need a challenging math program
Go back to school ahead of the game! Enjoy a fun and intellectually stimulating environment where students learn and practice math. Topics to be investigated include: logical reasoning in multiplication and division, critical thinking as students compare and contrast data, learning to represent and analyze mathematical situations using models, positive and negative integers and understanding the basic notion of algebraic expressions while solving puzzles.
Each lesson begins with a math game designed to promote problem solving and support computation. Students are then introduced to a skill and given time to practice the skill. Many students favorite part of the class, logic puzzles follows the lesson. And the class ends with problem solving. All lessons are directly related to the Common Core State Standards in Math and are designed to challenge the students while providing connections between mathematical skills.

July 1 through July 17
Tuesdays/Thursdays 9 AM to 10 AM
Open to students who have completed 4th grade and need additional math practice.
This program will be preparing local students for fifth grade math in a 3-week program. The goal of this camp, designed and taught by a Burlington Township fifth grade teacher is to motivate students and encourage them to stay excited about math over summer break. The program helps students feel secure as they practice exit skills from the fourth grade curriculum while taking a proactive approach to education by introducing the skills taught in the fifth grade curriculum. Topics we will investigate include: factors, multiples, geometry, fractions, decimals, percent, measurement, multi-step problems, and solving puzzles using strategies.
