COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course explores the many aspects of both video and photography. Some of the aspects related to video will include: equipment, recording methods, elements of storytelling, editing and post-production, and methods of presentation. Some of the aspects related to photography will include: equipment, technique, special effects, editing software, and presentation. There will also be elements of audio production for the purpose of enhancing video productions and photo slide shows. Students will learn to operate and maintain several forms of video and photography technologies such as quad copters, Go Pro cameras, video cameras, and SLR cameras. Students will learn post production editing using software such as Garageband, Vega Studio, Go Pro Studio, and Photoshop. Most instruction will be provided by Lynda.com in the form of video instruction. Some lessons will include downloadable files intended to allow students to practice the exercises demonstrated during video instruction. Much of the material covered during this course will be completed as a group; however, students will be encouraged and permitted to branch out and investigate areas of personal interest.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, students should be able to
· Operate and maintain several forms of video and photography equipment
· Identify several methods and techniques of recording video and taking still photos
· Utilize software to edit video recordings and enhance still photos
· Complete video and photography projects for presentation
TEXTBOOKS: This course requires no textbooks
SUPPLIES: Computer with internet access.
· Assignments will often be posted via internet classroom (Edmodo)
· Students will often acquire images and video from internet sources to complete projects.
· Students will research internet articles to gain information beyond that which is presented in the video lessons.

CLASSROOM POLICIES:
1. All work should be turned in on the assigned due date with a name and title. If assignment is in electronic form, the format is assignment name followed by first name last name. (Example: Greenscreen technology joesmith)
2. Work turned in without a name will not receive credit.
3. Work turned in within a week of the due date will be penalized by 50%
4. Assignments and projects missed due to an excused absence must be made up during the lunch period or before or after school.
5. Assignments and projects must be made up within one week of the excused absence.
6. All students should follow the Student Handbook Code of Conduct.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
All work must be your own, with the exception of group projects. Please note any assistance received or cite the source of any images or video used.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
· It is the responsibility of each student to complete all given assignments.
COURSE ASSIGNMENTS
· Students will complete weekly assignments related to topics and information learned during that week and previous weeks
· Students will complete occasional quizzes (approximately every two weeks)
· Students will complete at least one project each quarter
