Study Abroad Advising
We oversee all study abroad opportunities and advise Simmons students interested in studying abroad..
Study abroad options include:
Semester/Year Abroad
Students choose from a list of programs approved for Simmons transfer credit. Programs are located in countries world-wide and in many disciplines. Simmons operates a Home School Tuition model for semester study abroad that allows students to use their Simmons financial aid when they study abroad and we offer several study abroad scholarships to further offset the cost of study abroad.
Faculty-Led Travel Courses
Currently, Simmons students may participate in faculty-led short-term travel courses offered by Colleges of the Fenway institutions and in the future Simmons hopes to again offer travel courses taught by Simmons faculty.
Intern/Volunteer Abroad
Many of our approved study abroad programs offer opportunities to intern or volunteer abroad either during the semester as an add-on to courses or as a stand-alone summer opportunity.
Summer Study Abroad
Students may choose summer programs offered by our study abroad partners ranging in length from 2-8 weeks.
International Student Services
The CGE serves as International Student Advisers to support international students in F-1 status in all parts of their Simmons experience. We support international students by providing:
Pre-Arrival Planning and Support
SEVIS Immigration record management and issuance of I-20 forms
International Student Orientation
F-1 Immigration Advising around required course loads, employment authorization, travel and maintaining F-1 status
