SAT – College Entrance Exam offered at SHS one time during the year on a school day
Pre-ACT – Students are highly encouraged to take the Pre-ACT before taking the ACT
ACT – College Entrance Exam offered at SHS one time during the year on a school day
STAAR End-of-Course Exams: Algebra 1, Biology, English 1, English 2, and U.S. History
ACT College Entrance Exam
The ACT is standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. The ACT tests covers four academic skill areas: English, Mathamatics, Reading, and Science reasoning. It also offers an optional writing test.

If you are taking the ACT through SHS on a school day, please schSHS Counselor website under Testing, there you will find the Testing Registration Form to complete.
If you are taking the ACT on a Saturday, then you need to use the link below to sign up for the ACT.

SAT College Entrance Exam
TSIA 2 – Texas Success Initiative
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA 2) is a series of placement tests for student enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The tests help Texas schools determine whether you're ready for college-level courses in the areas of reading, writing, and math. You are required to pass the TSIA 2 before enrolling in Dual Credit English, Math, Science, History, and Psychology Courses.

TSI Testing Dates
TSIA 2 will be given each month at SHS. Sign up in the Counselor's Office.
TSIA 2 Cost
ELAR – $12
Math – $6
All Test (Reading, Math, Writing) – $18
TSI Minimum Passing Standards
ELAR - 945-990 and a 5 or higher on essay OR Below 945 and a Diagnostic level 5 or 6 with a 5 or higher on essay.
Mathematics - 950-990 OR 949 or lower with Diagnostic level of 6.
EOC–STAAR End-of-Course Exams
Students must pass all five EOC's to graduate from high school. Students will take the exam in the spring of the year the class is taken. If the student does not pass the EOC test, the student is required to retest until the EOC is passed. EOC Retest occurs in the summer and December.
