Opportunities
Scholarship opportunities have impending deadlines. While Silsbee High School is still awaiting confirmation and availability on some local scholarships, several other opportunities have submission deadlines fast approaching. The office will assist in granting some required information, but it is the student’s responsibility to attain all required information in a timely manner. It is imperative that senior students do not wait until the last minute when submitting their information.

Due Date: Scholarship Applications are due to Mrs. Smith’s office no later than 3:30 p.m. on March 4, 2026. (Please do not wait until then to ask for these items. The counselor’s office will need at least 48 hours to process requests.)
Directions for turning in Scholarship Applications (for the GENERAL APPLICATION Scholarships):
After completing the 2026 General Application through Google Forms, you need to obtain a copy of the application from Mrs. Smith's shared Google Drive.
The following documents must be placed in a sealable manila envelope for each scholarship you are applying for:
Scholarship Application
SHS Transcript (electronic copy)
Letter of Recommendation From a Teacher
Letter of Recommendation from Community Leader or Employer
Letter of Recommendation of Your Choice (cannot be a family member)
Copy of Acceptance Letter from College or University
Copy of SAT and/or ACT Scores (go to College Board Login or see Mrs. Smith)
High School Resume (You may use the template on Google Docs-Template Gallery)
WRITE THE NAME OF THE SCHOLARSHIP ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE
DO NOT WRITE YOUR NAME ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE
DO NOT PLACE SEVERAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS IN ONE ENVELOPE.
