Dual Credit

Silsbee High School partners with Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) to offer dual credit classes. 

Dual Credit classes are offered to all high school students.

**Students may not take more than 18 hours per semester**  

Steps to complete for enrollment into Dual Credit Courses:

1. Request Dual Credit Course(s) on your High School Schedule through the Counselor's Office

2. Apply for LiT (Lamar Institute of Technology) through Apply Texas - Even if you have not completely decided to take dual credit courses, you can still apply to LiT.

• Click the Apply Texas Icon to direct you to the Apply Texas Website.

3. After applying and being accepted, Email your T Number to your high school counselor.

4. TSIA 2 is required if you are taking any Dual Credit English, Math, or History; while waiting on your T Number, go ahead and prepare to take the TSIA2.

• Sign up to take the TSIA2 in the high school counselor's office

• Silsbee High School is a TSIA2 Testing Center - Sign up with the Counselor

• LiT TSIA2 Website - www.lit.edu/testing-center/tsi-pre-assessment  and www.lit.edu/testing-center/tsi-assessment 

• TSIA 2 Practice Test Website -studentportal.accuplacer.org/#/home

• You are REQUIRED (this is not an option) to take the Pre Assessment Activity for the TSIA2  -  https://practice.accuplacer.org/login

• After taking the Pre Assessment Activity, you will receive an email stating that you have completed the Pre Assessment Activity; you need to Forward that Email to your high school Counselor over testing.

• Continue practicing for the TSIA2 until the day of testing.

5. Once you have been accepted to LiT and you have your T Number, you can then log in to myLIT 

• All correspondence with LiT will be through email; it is important to REMEMBER your email and CHECK your email on a regular basis.
