 Hello from Mrs. McCauley

"Christ our Light, shine in our lives with hope and promise. Give us right vision so that we remain attentive to this holy season. Remind us to look for you in small acts of kindness and love. We await your coming with wonder." - Sadlier Religion

During this first week of Advent our students have been focused on sharing small acts of kindness. Our week started off with an Advent prayer service in the gym, St. Nick visited our classrooms on Wednesday, we attended mass on Thursday, and we had a prayer service today for the Immaculate Conception which is a Holy Day of Obligation. It has been a bright light watching our students learn about Advent and our Savior's coming. This week focused on Hope and next week we will focus on Peace.

Our students are continuing to practice their Christmas songs for our Christmas concert at 5:45pm on Saturday, December 16th at our Jingle Jangle Jubilee!

Pics of the Week

Spotlight on STEM!

3K PLTW Healthy Habits this week was 'Going to the doctor for a check-up and when we feel sick.'  Students were able to use a real stethoscope to listen to their heart beats. Then, as if they were at a real check-up, we measured and weighed each student.  We also measured how far they could jump to show gross motor skills, which doctors also look at as they grow.

4K Today 4K and 5K are joining together for an hour of coding presented by Mr. Mendez. We used the iPADs in our classroom and used the website linked here.

5K In addition to the Hour of Code today we have been busy learning about the life cycle of plants.  We are waiting for our bean seeds to sprout.

Student of the Week

Presley in K4 is our Student of the Week! She is a gentle, kind, respectful and a caring friend. She loves learning new things. She states, "Jesus is in my heart. I love Jesus." We are so very thankful that she is a part of our St. Sebastian family!
