Become involved in EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
INPUT school activities, honors, awards, activities, volunteer work, etc. into the RESUME on Naviance Student
Meet with your school counselor to FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF with GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS and available COURSES
Make SUMMER plans - VOLUNTEER, attend SUMMER PROGRAMS
April:
Students excelling in honors level courses, Register for SAT II Subject Tests (May or June) for those courses you are finishing up this year (example: Biology H)
May-June:
Take SAT II Subject Tests, if necessary.
What Can Parents Do:
Monitor academic progress.
Encourage your child to get involved in a wide variety of activities.
Assist your child with selecting courses for the following school year.
Review your child's academic program for 10th grade.
Help your child plan meaningful activities for the summer.
If you have not done so, start a college savings account (in your name).
