Steps to creating your account:
1. Go to www.castlelearning.com
2. Enter your username as: sh.student ID number (ex. sh.101000005)
3. Leave the password field blank
4. Click Sign In
You will be prompted to create a new password. Once logged in, simply click Method Test Prep and start completing lessons!
This is a free online SAT/ACT prep program. An access code is needed in order to create an account which was provided in an introductory communication. If you did not receive this communication you can get your access code in the counseling center.
Classes are taught by Whitman teachers and will be held in the afternoons (2:30pm - 4:00pm). Ideally, participating students should attend ALL EIGHT sessions but students are permitted to attend sessions at their convenience should they need to work around other commitments. Wilson Tech students are eligible for a FREE six-week course, taught by NYS certified instructors, to help them prepare for the SAT. Classes are held at the Dix Hills campus and transportation is available.

STEP Saturday Academy is a FREE University program that provides academic support services and enrichment activities to historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged students in grade 7-12.
The program will be conducted on 5 consecutive Saturdays (February 29, March 7, 14, 21, & 28th) from around 8:30AM to 1:30PM at Farmingdale State College. STEP buses will pick up students at Whitman, take them to Farmingdale College, and then return them to Whitman in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided for students.
All participants must submit this permission slip before the designated deadline along with a copy of the student’s most recent report card. Any student who is new to STEP will also be required to complete a program application and provide a copy of immunization records
SAT/ACT Math and English- Test preparation for reading, writing, and math sections for high school students planning to take these exams in the fall or late spring. **Only students in grades 10-12**

SCOPE, Long Island’s leading education services provider, is providing an ACT Prep course for the students of South Huntington School District. Five three-hour classes will be held at Walt Whitman High School on Tuesdays from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. The cost of the program is $225. See website for further details.
2020 Scope ACT Test Prep
This comprehensive 20-session series will be delivered by Whitman teachers who have been specifically trained to administer the Kaplan Test Prep Program. The cost includes program materials. Saturday sessions will offer students opportunities to take and analyze practice exams. Weekday sessions will provide students with a wealth of content and test-taking strategies in both English and Mathematics. Please see attached flyer for further details, dates, and application.
2020 Kaplan Test Prep
South Huntington Library is offering a twelve-hour SAT Prep course. Six two-hour classes will be held at the library on Mondays from 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm. The cost of the program is $85. Students are required to purchase a copy of McGraw-Hill's SAT, 2019 (or 2020) edition and bringing a calculator.
