Sheridan AllPrep Children’s Center (SHACC) is proud to serve as a Career & Technical Education (CTE) learning site, where local students gain meaningful, hands-on experience in early childhood education while supporting young children and families in our community.
Our CTE program is built on a simple belief:
When we invest in future educators, we strengthen the future of our children, families, and workforce.
Students in the Education & Training CTE pathway learn directly inside an active early learning environment. Guided by experienced educators, they build practical skills, confidence, and professional habits that prepare them for both employment and continued education.
Through their time at SHACC, students have opportunities to:
Support classrooms and learn alongside young children
Practice communication, teamwork, and responsibility
Observe child development and meaningful learning experiences
Participate in lesson planning, reflection, and problem-solving
Engage in professional learning and workplace expectations
These authentic experiences help students understand the importance of early childhood education while developing the skills needed for long-term career success.
As part of the program, students are supported in earning valuable certifications that strengthen employability and readiness for work in child care and education settings:
CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant, Child, and Adult)
Food Handler’s Card
Infant Safe Sleep Certification
Child Abuse Reporting Certification
These credentials provide students with a strong, practical foundation as they begin their professional journey.
Sheridan AllPrep Academy (SHAPA) supports students in exploring and pursuing next steps after graduation, including connections to local colleges, training programs, and career opportunities in early childhood education and related fields.
As SHACC serves as the hands-on learning site, this partnership ensures students receive both real-world experience and clear guidance for their future, creating a seamless bridge from high school learning into meaningful careers.
By welcoming CTE students into our center, SHACC is helping address one of the most important needs in our region:
Growing a strong, prepared early childhood workforce.
This work benefits everyone—children receive additional support, students gain career direction, and families see their community investing in the future of education.
We are honored to be part of each student’s journey and proud to help cultivate the next generation of compassionate, skilled educators.
