Have you ever wanted to try oil painting? This is the class for you! Each evening, students create a complete oil painting! These classes do not require drawing skills and are also NOT paint-by-number. At the beginning of class, each student is provided with a blank canvas, brushes, palette of paints, etc. Then, through classroom instruction, each person creates their own, unique oil painting. Any level of painter will enjoy the classes! Peggy is a Certified Alexander Art Instructor and an authorized Wilson Bickford Painting Partner. View the photographs of the paintings listed below at www.paintwithpeggy.com and register for the classes you wish to attend. Please bring a box (such as a clean pizza box) to take home your completed painting. $30 Materials Fee, payable to the instructor, at class. Questions? Dates/Subjects:

Monday, October 16“ Night Watch - Owl in the Moon” – This painting is a monochromatic painting. Using only black-and-white paint, participants will create the scene of an owl in a tree, silhouetted against distant mountains. Peggy will guide students on how to use color value to create depth in the painting. This is a great painting for beginners or those who have not painted in a while. The result is always dramatic, and students tell Peggy that this is a family favorite!

Monday, November 6“Autumn Birches” – A variety of techniques are used to create this painting, including using masking tape and painting oil paints over acrylics. The dramatic colors of fall create a wonderful scene with the sun streaking into the birch forest!

Monday, December 4“Come Safely Home” (Lighthouse on a Bluff) Lighthouses are always a favorite topic, and they are fun to paint! In this scene, the sun is setting over the ocean, and the bright lighthouse beam is shining out over the ocean. We place the lighthouse on a hill along with evergreen trees, flowers and a few rocks. Not to worry, a pattern is provided for the lighthouse, and Peggy will guide you step-by-step through the painting process.
