Community Education

Community Education

The Community Education Office offers a wide variety of classes for the community, from aquatics to art to investing.   A brochure with course listings is available on the webpage as well as the opportunity to register for courses online.

Driver Education

The Shenendehowa Driver Education Program is typically offered during the fall, spring and summer terms in partnership with Bell's Driving School.  The program is currently on pause, due to the shortage of certified NYS instructors.

Shen Summer Adventures

Shen Summer Adventures is a summer enrichment program run through the Community Education Office.  We provide courses for our youth in various areas, such as Summer Musical Theater and SEEC enrichment camp, just to name a few.

Community Services

Use of Facilities

Use of Facilities is coordinated through the Community Services Office. The district's school buildings and grounds are maintained primarily for the purpose of educating students and supporting school-related activities within the district.  However, we realize that they are a valuable community resource that should be available for specific uses that will not interfere with school activities.

Shenendehowa's Bountiful Backpack Program

Shenendehowa's K-12 Bountiful Backpack program is a partnership with the Regional Food Bank of NENY designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, especially on weekends. The program provides backpacks filled with food that is child-friendly, shelf-stable and easily-consumed.  Shenendehowa’s Bountiful Backpack program is funded entirely by local donations.

Friends of Shen Volunteer Program

Friends of Shen Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for Capital Region adults to volunteer in our schools and provide a valuable resource to our local elementary and secondary school age youth.  We are looking for volunteers now!  Please become a Friend of Shen and help augment our dedicated parent base.  Our schools are seeking folks from all walks of life, from college students to senior citizens.  Our students would love to have you share your experiences, special interests and talents with them!  Every effort will be made to match volunteer's interests with our students' needs.
