Flag Frenzy

We are excited to add the “a” to STEAM competition for another year! 

Each team will bring a flag to walk in the competition with and PLANT at their work site.  It will be a creative display that reflects the team and the competition. The winning designs will be recognized at the award’s ceremony and will be placed on the website at the conclusion of the competition.  

There will be a separate award for the most creative flag at each competition.  

The judging committee will look for: 

• Following Size Requirement

• Incorporating all Required Information (Team Name, School Name, Team Members)  

• Attractive and Neatness of Flag

• Creativeness of Team Name and Flag Design 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Flag cannot be larger than ½ a standard poster board. (36 cm by 56 cm) 

(Examples include: foam board, fabric, poster board, etc.) Be creative!

• Must Include Team Name, School Name, and Names of Team Members on the flag 

• Must Reflect the Nature of Competition that the Team is Competing   

• You will need to buy a dowel rod and attach your flag for display and you will need to figure out a way to keep your flag free-standing beside the work area.  The base holding your flag must not exceed 46 cm squared. This could be another STEM activity for your team. Get creative but don’t overcomplicate because you will have to carry this flag base to your competition.  

• Must be ORIGINAL artwork if used. 

We are excited to see the amazing designs you come up with this year as we go “Off to the Races” and finish strong!
