The external examiner and external assessor reports are completed via the University's online report forms. A new version of each form is created for each academic session. The current form is for the 2024-25 academic session.
Please note:
We recommend that you sign into your University of Sheffield Google account to complete the online form, as this will allow the form to automatically save your responses in a draft as you move through the questions.
A copy of your responses will be emailed to you upon submission for your records.
You can access a Summary of Questions below if you wish to view all of the questions and prepare your responses in advance of using the online form. Please be reminded that the Summary of Questions contains all sections/questions for each form as a whole; however, when you complete the online form you will only be asked to complete the sections that are relevant to you based on your answers to certain questions. For example, a subject examiner will not be asked to answer the questions that are aimed only at programme examiners.
If you are the external examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, please complete a separate report and claim form for each.

Once you have submitted your report, please complete the relevant Claim Form and submit it, along with receipts for any expenses, to examiners@sheffield.ac.uk.
All programme and subject external examiners are expected to submit an annual report, excepting 'Thesis only' examiners for the DClinPsy programme.
External examiner reports should be submitted no more than 4 weeks after the completion of the final examination board at which award recommendations are made. For standard UG programmes this means reports should be submitted by the end of July, and for standard PGT programmes by the end of November.

External assessors for integrated degree apprenticeships are expected to submit a report on the EPA activities in addition to the external examiner report.
External assessor reports should be submitted within 4 weeks of the final EPA for the academic session. Please contact your school for details of the EPA dates.
