MODULE CHOICES FOR ELLT61 MA TESOL


This information is to help you make your optional module choices for this programme. Students on MA TESOL will take 180 credits in total.

The following modules are CORE modules which means a student has to take these and they should automatically be added to your student record so you don’t need to choose these when completing your registration:


EGH404 Teaching Practice 1, Autumn Semester, 15 credits

EGH406 Teaching Listening and Speaking, Autumn Semester, 15 credits

EGH432 Language Teaching Methodology, Autumn Semester, 15 credits

EGH429 Materials and Course Design, Autumn Semester, 15 credits

EGH405 Teaching Practice 2, Spring Semester, 15 credits

EGH407 Teaching Reading and Writing,  Spring Semester, 15 credits

EGH408 Teaching Vocabulary, Grammar and Discourse, Spring Semester, 15 credits


The following modules are OPTIONAL module which means you can choose which module you wish to take

You should choose one of the following:


EGH409 Practitioner Research and Development, Spring Semester, 15 credits

EGH411 Research Dissertation Practice, Spring Semester, 15 credits


You should then choose one of the following:


EGH413 Professional Portfolio – In order to take this module you must have

taken EGH409 which is a pre requisite

EGH459 Dissertation – In order to take this module you must have taken

EGH411 which is a pre requisite
