Key Dates and Deadlines

9am, Tuesday 7th May 2024: University Online Module Choice (OMC) opens and you will enter your module choices, ready for registration in September.

5pm, Friday 24th May 2024: University Online Module Choice (OMC) closes, approved modules will be added to your student record.

3-4pm, Wednesday 1st May 2024, The Diamond Building Lecture Theatre 7: English Language and Linguistics, English Language and Literature and English Language Dual programme information session

11-12.30pm, Tuesday 2nd May 2024: English Literature and Dual drop-in sessions (either online or in -person), please book an appointment slot here

The content of our courses is reviewed annually to make sure it's up-to-date and relevant. Individual modules are occasionally updated or withdrawn.

The modules listed are for 2024-25 academic year and the offering is likely to be different in future years

The Programme Regulations are the most up to date resource to tell you which modules you can and cannot take depending on your programme.

Guided Modules

As part of your module choice in the School of English students can elect to take a number of credits of Guided modules from other Departments in the University.

The number of credits available to you will differ across our degrees, so please check the Programme Regulations Guide 2024-25 for the number of credits you can take on your specific programme of study.

For most programmes the maximum will be 20 credits.

You can elect to take all 120 credits within the School of English, you do not have to choose Guided modules.

If you do wish to take Guided Modules:

When you access Online Module Choice (OMC) via MUSE, you will be presented with a list of your programme’s approved and guided modules.

Please note that approved and guided modules will present as a single list- in other words, modules will not appear broken down as approved or guided.
