What is the Student Wellbeing Service and how can we support you?

The Student Wellbeing Service is accessible to all students studying at all levels, including post graduates.

We can provide short term support if you’re experiencing difficulties in maintaining your overall sense of wellbeing.

We believe that your time at university can be one of the most enjoyable but we’re also aware that the demands of your course alongside other aspects of life can feel like a lot to juggle at times.

If you find this is the case, you’re feeling low in mood, overwhelmed or struggling to adjust to student life, we’re here to support you.

We can offer a confidential space for you to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing and can support you in thinking about how to manage things moving forward.

We understand that being an international student studying abroad can be exciting, but we understand that it can be difficult at times.

Each session will start with a short 15 minute presentation about a wellbeing topic, and there will be time to share thoughts and experiences afterwards.

Bereavement Support sessions and the Chaplaincy Service

Good Grief Peer Support Group

https://students.sheffield.ac.uk/chaplaincy/good-grief

Loss, bereavement, and grief are a normal, difficult, part of life. Everyone will eventually experience a loss or bereavement of some kind, but some students find they feel very alone in their experience of grief. Good Grief! is a group for people who would like to share their experience of loss or bereavement with others who are in a similar position. Each group meets for 3 sessions, (usually at lunchtime or the end of the working day), and is confidential. After the 3 sessions group members will have the opportunity to stay in touch with each other, if they would like to. Group members need to be willing to attend all 3 sessions.

You can express your interest to joing the support group on the following Google form

For more information or to join a group, please contact Kathryn, chaplaincy@sheffield.ac.uk

Groups are facilitated by The Chaplaincy Centre and supported by the University Counselling Service.
