Developing a toolkit for engaging community research link workers (CRLW)
to increase research participation power for underserved communities
This project was co-developed by community research link workers from different communities, especially ethnic minority groups, as well as academic researchers from various disciplines, faculties, and research teams within the University of Sheffield.
This project leveraged an extensive literature review on the subject matter and gained insight into key themes and focus points. Through a series of workshops and focused group discussions, this project gained rich insights from the experiences of Community Research Link workers in their work on several research projects alongside Academic Researchers.
In a bid to demonstrate 'Best Practices', this team of community researchers and academic researchers developed a comprehensive, interactive, easy-to-understand toolkit to guide researchers both from the community and within academic institutions.
Take a look at the Interactive Community Researcher Toolkit here.
This project continues to celebrate the unique role of the Community Research Link Worker and seeks to share the diverse ways that faculties or research networks within Academic Institutions like the University of Sheffield can engage communities appropriately.
