South Yorkshire's Community of Practice for Research in Primary Care was established in September 2021.
Everyone is welcome!
Our group is always expanding. We now have over 70 members from all areas of the Primary Care workforce, including Primary Care administrative and management staff as well as health care professionals working in Primary Care: Practice Nurses, GP's, Physician's Associates, Nursing Associates, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and other Allied Health Professionals.
The South Yorkshire Community of Practice for Research in Primary Care provides support for the whole practice team, to embed research into the Primary Care workforce.
Research is fundamental for advancing healthcare, driving innovations in treatments, diagnostics, and care delivery.
Healthcare settings, from large hospitals to local clinics, play a crucial role in research by recruiting patients to take part in studies and carrying out the activities that generate study data.
Medical studies not only contribute to scientific knowledge but also potentially bring benefits to the participating institutions.

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) operates through 12 Research Delivery Networks (RDN) and is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
Their purpose is to:
Support the successful delivery of high quality research.
Increase capacity and capability of the research delivery infrastructure for the future
GP surgeries can sign up to deliver research studies which are accepted onto the NIHR 'portfolio' which is an ever changing mixture of different studies, looking at a broad range of healthcare related research topics.
