Established in 2017, with many of the founding members are still active within the group. This wealth of research experience has earnt a reputation for being honest, insightful and engaging. We regularly work with researchers that travel from all over the UK to meet with the DERA PPI group.
Their perspectives are highly valued and they continue to provide feedback that has helped to shape many different healthcare research projects.

I have been a Patient and Public Involvement and/or Engagement (PPIE) for the last nine years - participating and contributing in many different care, clinical health, health technology, and public health research, locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. Each of us can only attain our optimum potential and share our talents for the benefit and good of society if we are in good health and treated with equity, equality, parity, fairness, etc. I often present a 'critical' friend view and constructively question and challenge researchers, and advocate for health and social justice for all - with the aim to mitigate health inequality and inequity.

I am one of the founding members of the Deep End PPI group, and enjoy learning about and contributing to different research projects. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to get more involved with projects that especially interest me, most recently I played a key role in the Fairsteps project
