The Hormone Effect app

In development...

Objectives

 1.    Build collaboration with women from underrepresented and underserved communities to explore digital health technology.

2.    Bridge the divide in digital accessibility using pre-existing inclusive health research networks in Sheffield DeepEnd Research Alliance.

3.    Rebuild trust in the use of technology through fully co-designed dynamic methods with women under-represented in mainstream research.

4.    Capture lived experience of women taking hormonal contraception via a longitudinal pilot in areas of highest unmet reproductive health need.

App development

We are working with a digital design company to develop a prototype data collection tool. Our project has been funded by The University of Sheffield and will focus on women who are usually not well represented in medical research.

We are looking for 10 women to join the design team, from black and ethnically diverse communities in Sheffield. We will run workshops where we can explore how the app should run, look and be written.
