A Vlog or a Video Log is a great way of presenting an idea, topic or essay in video format.
On this page you will have all the necessary learning resources in order to create your own Vlog or Video Essay.
We have a dedicated Vlog Studio available to book Mon-Fri, which has all of the relevant equipment and staff support included at the start of your booking. Book now!
If you are unsure of what topic your Vlog should be on, it is a good idea to create a Mind Map to help you develop themes and content ideas.
Once you have an idea you are happy with, gather Video, Image or Audio content that would be suitable for your Vlog. This can be gathered through Camtasia software.
Before you create your Vlog, it is important to think about what is going to be said and how it will be created technically. This is why it is important to create a Documentary Script as it will inform and inspire your visuals, sound and narration.

If you are a beginner and want to create high quality Vlog content in the simplest way possible we suggest using the Sony PXW X70 Camcorder and a Tripod as it is excellent at recording high quality video and audio in its automatic mode, all you need to do is simply frame the shot and press record when ready. You will also require a laptop placed at head height with the below website uploaded:

You can paste your script dialogue in to the Teleprompter and you will be able to read your narration while the camera is recording.
You might find that your vlog needs a little editing to clean up the video. This could be as simple as 'trimming' the start and the finish - or you might want to add in additional text or graphics to inform your work.
