Important Information for New Starters

Computing:

An IT account will be set up for you and your login details will be emailed to you separately (to your personal email address).

Once you have your details, you can find information regarding how to log in via the following link: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/muse

Your new university UCard will be available to collect directly from IT services and you will receive an email when it is ready to be collected (see map below)

Equipment requirements:

Our IT team have been informed of your start date.

You will be provided with a standard IT kit on your start date, including: Dell 14" Laptop, docking station, keyboard / mouse and 22" monitor setup. Intel I5, 16gb ram 512 SSD drive with a carry case.

Eligibility to work check:

This must be completed before you start your role, and you will be contacted by the department via email regarding arrangements to complete the check.

All potential employees require a right to work check, regardless of their nationality. Undertaking these checks ensures that the University meets its legal obligations set by the Home Office.

Occupational health:

Once your contract has been sent to you by the central HR team, you will also be contacted via email regarding a general health declaration - please respond to this at your earliest convenience.

It may be that the outcome of this is referral to an Occupational Health Adviser - further details will be sent to you in this case.
