Hi, my name is Tricia Graham and I am Shasta View Academy's Math Specialist. Let me start by saying I did not grow up loving math. In fact, I hated it. Math was my enemy until I sat inside an amazing teacher's classroom. It was there, in a first and second-grade combo class, that my love for mathematics began. I learned that mathematics can be fun, that it is a puzzle to be solved, and anyone can do it!. When I became a teacher, my love for teaching math grew. I went from traditional teaching to Montessori and now I dabble in both. Along the way, I have learned so many wonderful strategies to help all thinkers grow in their mathematical abilities. I also realize that the majority of students and parents disliked math. They think, "I am just not got at it!" I am here to say that everyone can become a "mathematician". There is not just one way to solve a problem; there several ways. Math is a skill that can be developed. It sharpens your mind for science, engineering, finance, gaming, and many other aspects of life. It is my passion to help students, parents, and teachers develop a love or at least friendship with math. I am here to assist you with your mathematical and instructional needs.
