The Robot Drone League (RDL), developed by STREAMWORKS Education, is a hands-on STEM competition where middle and high school students design, build, and program both ground robots and aerial drones to complete themed engineering challenges. Each season features a unique real-world scenario—such as the 2025 "Moonbase" mission inspired by NASA's Artemis program—requiring teams to collaborate in solving complex tasks through autonomous and remote-controlled systems. The league promotes skills in robotics, computer science, and problem-solving, and includes both RDL for older students and RDL Jr. for grades K–6. Regional competitions culminate in a national championship hosted at East Tennessee State University.
