COACHES
SFC (R) Ommannan González is a proud native of Habana, Cuba, and a first-generation immigrant whose family settled in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from Hostos-Lincoln Academy of Science and later enlisted in the U.S. Army at the Tampa, Florida Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Beginning his military career as a Telecommunications Specialist, he also volunteered as an Army Airborne Paratrooper, completing 55 recorded jumps. His technical expertise includes radio and satellite communications, as well as electromagnetic spectrum engineering. SFC González’s first combat deployment was to Kirkuk, Iraq, with the renowned 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles,” where he served as a retransmission specialist and earned the Combat Action Badge after 29 confirmed missions. Following this deployment, he joined Army Special Operations with the 98th Civil Affairs Battalion, deploying to both South America and Balad, Iraq. After ten years of service in telecommunications, he advanced his career by graduating from both the Army’s Electromagnetic Spectrum Course and the Operational Electronic Warfare Course.
As a qualified Spectrum Manager, he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, with the 82nd Airborne Division (“All American”) under Joint Task Force 82, supporting live combat operations as an Electronic Warfare Spectrum Manager. His career continued overseas at Camp Humphreys, South Korea, where he was stationed with the 304th Signal Battalion. Upon returning, he served with the 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade as the lead Spectrum Manager and Satellite Signal Planner in the Network Operations section and as a Future Operations (FUOPS) Planner in the Battalion S-3. SFC González also held important collateral duties as the Battalion Equal Opportunity Leader and the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Coordinator, where he was officially certified as a Department of Defense Sexual Assault Victim Advocate.
SFC (R) González holds a degree in Cybersecurity and Networking from the University of Maryland. He is married and the proud father of two children. In his free time, he enjoys writing for the Boyertown Bulletin, volunteering in Scouting, and spending quality time with his family. In 2021, he joined the Wilson School District as an Army JROTC instructor and launched the school’s Cybersecurity Club in 2022, continuing his passion for service, leadership, and mentoring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

Mr. McCaffrey is the Innovation and Virtual Academy Coordinator at Wilson School District and a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Coach. His current role is to build innovative capacity by co-creating learner-centered growth opportunities for all professionals. Mr. McCaffrey also works closely with Wilson virtual students so that they can get ahead, or stay on track to become life, career and/or college ready.
Mr. McCaffrey taught high school math and computer science for 10 years, and for the past 15 years has worked with educators in creating authentic 21st century learning experiences and automation of organizational processes. He taught Introduction to Computer Science, the Cisco Networking Academy Program (formerly held a CCNA Certification), and AP Computer Science. Mr. McCaffrey believes that by leveraging technology as an accelerant for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication creates a space for true student-centered learning and engagement.
Academically, he first earned a degree in Finance from Shippensburg University of PA along with several years working in the financial planning and banking industries with Series 6 and 63 designations. At Shippensburg, he was a regional all-american soccer player, a captain his senior year, and a 4 year starter. Mr. McCaffrey went on to achieve a degree in Secondary Mathematics from Kutztown University of PA, two Master's Degrees in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University and a Supervisory Certificate from Gannon University in Curriculum and Instruction.
On the personal side, Mr. McCaffrey enjoys working on his 100+ year old home, loves playing soccer and coaching youth basketball and soccer and appreciates the outdoors whether hiking, camping, kayaking or biking.

Teddy Necula is a 3rd year Student of Penn State University and an approved volunteer for the Wilson School District. He is currently majoring in Bachelor's in Cybersecrurity Analytics and Operations and has contribute to our club as a club mentor.If you are a Wilson High School alumnus or have experience in cybersecurity and are interested in volunteering, we invite you to contact SFC (Ret.) González to schedule an interview. We are actively seeking dedicated mentors to help train and guide our students in cybersecurity-related programs and competitions. All volunteers must complete a background check and meet the school district’s volunteer eligibility requirements. Your support can make a meaningful impact on the next generation of cyber leaders.
