AFA STELLARXPLORERS

https://www.stellarxplorers.org/

This year, Wilson High School is proud to launch its very own StellarXplorers team! This elite team will represent Wilson in four to five national-level space system competitions throughout the school year, tackling real-world aerospace challenges using advanced simulation tools. If you have an interest in aerospace engineering, space technology, or mission planning, this is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work as part of a competitive team. Spots are limited and filling up quickly—don’t miss your chance to be part of this exciting journey!
In the StellarXplorers competition, students work in teams to solve real-world space system design challenges, focusing on areas like satellite orbit planning, payload selection, and launch vehicle configuration. Using professional-grade software tools, teams analyze and optimize mission scenarios under time constraints, learning key principles of aerospace engineering, physics, and cybersecurity. The competition emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving, giving students hands-on experience with the technical and strategic decisions involved in space missions.

AFA StellarXplorers

The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) believes in the power that students hold in securing our nation’s future; however, only 1 in 5 high school students are interested in careers in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). To equip our students with the knowledge and skills required for future innovation, we must increase the number of students and teachers in STEM fields.

That’s why AFA is part of the nationwide initiative to improve STEM learning— including aerospace education—to better prepare students for the competitive global economy and increase their chances of becoming future leaders who solve our nation’s toughest challenges.
