Basketball A to Z
Students will learn skills around the theme of our favorite sport - BASKETBALL! What makes this program different from typical basketball camps are the various basketball related skills all students can learn. Some of these skills will include basketball skills development - individual and team offensive and defensive drills, controlled 3v3 and 5v5 situations, and officiated 3v3 and 5v5 scrimmages (better skilled to try out for high school). We will work on conditioning to include exercises to improve core and reduce injury (this skill could interest students to learn about Kinesiology). Students will learn Basic Athletic First Aid - fundamental injury care (this skill could interest students to learn about Athletic Training). Students will learn Officiating - this skill could interest students to learn to officiate actual contests. Students will learn Scorekeeping/Statistics/Filming - this skill could help participants become student managers in college and earn potential scholarship money. We will also work on the skills of Public Announcing/Venue Set-up & Logistics - students will learn about these off the court skills to get a better understanding of their on the court importance.

Hand Sewing for Beginners / Intermediate
Hand sewing for beginners and intermediate is an introductory class that teaches the basics of sewing. Students will learn everything from threading a needle and tying it to using different types of stitches to hem and sew pieces you may actually be able to wear. Sewing is a skill that all of us should have so that we can sew back on that button that fell off our shirt or sew up a tear you got on your pants from playing outside. If you have taken this class before with me, don't worry! I have some new exciting activities that will continue to give you practice and become a better seamstress than you already are! I would like to include a little bit of machine sewing the second week for those students who have a sewing machine. However, it is NOT required for this class. We will focus mainly on hand sewing only.
